This is Just for fun

With years and years of amazing, gut-wrenching matches that haven taken place in WWE. It’s no surprise that many of them live in our hearts and till this day we will talk about them, we praise them. Some of the matches even jump up to №1 just because it’s the normal thing to do.

However, that doesn’t mean that all matches will have that same excitement when you have a second watch or even a fourth watch. When you look back at some of these matches, you can kinda see the dullness and quite frantically how boring they actually are.

While some of the matches are good and have some sort of fun element to them. Throughout the years most of them just fall short.

Triple H Vs UnderTaker — Wrestlemania 27

Dubbed as the “worst” Wrestlemania in some time. Triple H and Undertaker had three matches at the grandest stage of them all. This was the middle match, and it wasn’t that impressive. It went far too long, rather than being snappy and get to the point. I think it they were to cut maybe 10 minutes of the match it would’ve benefited them more.

Instead, it dragged on for almost 30 minutes. There were a lot of slow moments, almost like they needed to catch their breathes. Which I understand, they are weathered wrestlers and sometimes the times just catch up with you.

Even though they had a few good spots and made the crowd cheer on. The energy now just feels off. It almost felt as if they were dragged into this confrontation and just needed that one Wrestlemania match.

It should’ve been a classic bout but it just fell flat.

Hulk Hogan Vs Ultimate Warrior — Wrestlemania 6

Two of the biggest stars in WWE in the early 90’s clashed in the main event of Wrestlemania 6. The stakes were high, it was champion vs champion, It was suppose to be a match for the ages.

Often of times, this is considered one of the most famous and profound matches in Wrestlemania history. We all see the replays of Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan hugging it out after their fight.

When you look closely at this encounter you will soon realize that most of the match consisted of both of men just laying down and doing submissions after submissions.

The energy of the match really went down in the middle of the match.

Both of their over-the-top characters technically saved this match. The reality is that the match itself was just a bottle of old beer. It tasted nice for a few sips but after it just made you frown.

John Cena Vs CM Punk — Money In The Bank 2011

To people this is considered a modern day classic. Probably to most of the people today its in their top 10 best wrestling matches.

The storyline was great, the circumstances surrounding the match made it feel like both men had something to lose. The build up to the match was actually really entertaining and made this final match as big as a Mike Tyson fight (in the 90's).

Once the bell rung, it all changed. The match itself wasn’t that good. They had other encounters that were way better, and nobody seems to talk about them.

The match was bland and boring for being a main event.

Rob Van Dam Vs John Cena — ECW One Night Stand

This one was one hot night. As a WWE superstar, you were basically blacklisted from stepping foot inside an ECW ring. The crowd was hot when John Cena came out. They threw drinks at him. When he threw his shirt to the crowd, they threw it back multiple times. I’ve never heard such a loud “boo” from the crowd like this night.

To be honest, the crowd is what made this match more into an all-time classic. It’s crazy how crowd participation can add more to an average match.

I don’t think this match would be remembered if John Cena would’ve won it. I think it was obvious to let Rob Van Dam have this one.

The match itself had a fair share of good spots. The crowd was ramped up and were ready to riot if John Cena won. Kudos to Cena for keeping his cool the whole night, I know that there’s some wrestlers who would’ve lost it.

The enthusiasm of the crowd is what keeps this match being talked about today. Overall, it was your basic championship match that lasted roughly more than 30 minutes and had no serious “omg” moment.

Undertaker Vs Mankind — King Of The Ring 1998

This is by far one of favorite matches ever. I’ve rewatched it countless times and I’m always in shock on the pain Mankind took that night.

But here me out.

Dubbed “The most violent Hell In A Cell” match. This match was an effort to top the previous Hell In A Cell match that involved Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.

This match was centered on big bumps.

I think this match really did shorten Mick Foley career. As much as he wanted to be the one to be talked about, I don’t think it was worth the pain, that’s just me.

Sure, Mick Foley finished the match with unimaginable pain. I think they could’ve had a better “match” and actually see who the better man was.

But with how much of a match it really wasn’t, It’s still one of favorite things to watch.

Hulk Hogan Vs Andre The Giant — Wrestlemania 3

The most famous match in WWE history. The quality of the match isn’t what it seems to be. It was slow and boring to be honest. Andre could barely move. Wasn’t his fault as his body wasn’t up to par with the circumstances.

When you look back, you get the sense that the whole match was built upon that one moment. The moment we all see and continue to hear about. When Hulk Hogan slammed Andre The Giant and 93,000 people screamed.

Besides that memorable moment. The match was just boring.

Bret Hart Vs Shawn Michaels — Iron Man Match

Okay, I might get some heat for this one…

I think both Bret and Shawn are the best performers in WWE history. Both men went out to the ring and they knew the mission. They put their bodies on the line and thrived on being the center of attention.

I will not take that away from them.

If it wasn’t for that 60-minute stipulation, I think this match would be seen as different. Even though it’s considered an all time classic. I think if it was to be a normal match, it would be more praised.

It was your typical standard championship match. But there was no drama till the last five minutes of the match.

Maybe if they would’ve added some drama in the middle of the fight, I would’ve forgotten that there was still 40 more minutes in the fight.

I think its safe to save we really only remember the last moments of the match instead of the whole thing.
