WWE Is Depending On Older Talent

Lately the WWE has been way too dependent on older talent to keep the product alive.

It’s a move that is slowly becoming too stall and even worse, it’s hurting the company a lot more. It’s nice to see legends come back to the square circle snf put on a clinic of a show. It’s just becoming such a repetitive formula nowadays.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s always a treat to see them comeback to the place that made them who they are. I always cheer when I see the likes of Ric Flair, Edge, Bret Hart, etc, comeback. But lately I’ve been thinking about how this also hurts the company to a certain extent.

We don’t need the legends.

We have the new generation!

There’s enough young talent in the roster that is hungry for the spotlight. Both on the main brand and NXT. These wrestlers are fighting hard to get more exposure and I think it’s time they gave them that exposure.

Instead of giving all the major storylines to their legends, why not take a certain risk and give one mid-card wrestler a big story? As a fan that will tell me that you have faith in this person and you want to show that trust to us.

Will all the ideas work? Of course not. There were many bad ideas during the Attitude Era that didn’t work, and we looked past that. But within that structure of building something with a mid-carder and a supposed main eventer, something is bound to click. Something will work and it will be great.

It may seem like the hardest thing to do, but it’s the easiest thing to do.

Most of the returning oldies tend to put the younger ones over and get them to the next level. It’s almost a tradition at this point. Because even the legends understand that THESE wrestlers of today are the future of the business.

All the WWE legends know they can’t spend their entire life coming back to the company to wrestle. It’s a hassle for them. Their bodies are sore and quite frantically with years of abuse, most of their bodies just can’t take another hit.

They understand that.

Even John Cena has said that WWE is depending too much of them to keep this thing alive. He said it’s a shame. There’s too much talent here getting overlooked. I agree with him.

Just take Undertaker Vs Goldberg at Crown Jewels…if you want to see a disaster of a match watch this one. As much as I love both them. This was where you draw the line. Both men were not in shape to wrestle at all.

I stared at my tv just in shock of how terrible the match was.

I doubt that the WWE will ever give their new talent any sort of super push in the near future. By super push I mean the kind of risk they took with The Rock back in 1998. He was a nobody, he was just in a stable. They took their chance on him and the rest if history.

WWE will continue to book only their top guys with the biggest storyline and the little men will continue to just fight to get some exposure.

Who knows…the person who opens the show or the person who is the most unlikely candidate could end up becoming your next John Cena.

I know when I saw Daniel Bryan on WWE I never expected for him to become what he did.

Sooner or later, they will come to their senses
