WWE And It’s Biggest Problem…Repetition
The problems of WWE are well documented.
For almost a decade the decline of the business is more relevant. We keep seeing the ticket sales decline. The TV ratings just aren’t there. It’s a consist battle to just stay on TV it seems.
Now, with the numerous backstage politics choking the life out of the wrestling promotion. I could write an endless amount of blogs, but that will be for a different time. I suggest to myself to write abut the on-screen peoblem it is having.
The problem is repetition
What do I mean by that? Well, for starters they can’t seem to keep a storyline going for the long term. It’s like they get scared that it will bore us to death or just plainly won’t like it. There is some truth to that. But, it’s only because they tend to deliver less than underwhelming storylines.
I truly miss the days of long-term storytelling. Thje days where the wrestlers just went at it for months on months till one match settled everything. They did do that with Randy Orton and The Fiend. I think it was one of the best things they came up with. They kept the story going for MONTHS and kept it real interesting. That is what they should be doing with at least TWO of their main storylines.
Lately, we’ve been getting rematch after rematch with the same results.
Take Damien Priest versus The Miz and John Morrison. It started out all fun and games. I actually liked it. Mostly because Damien Priest was new to the main roster, and they actually gave him a full on story right off the bat. Sadly, it just got blown out of proportion.
The feud just kept dragging on with pointless single matches.
Sure, the addition of Bad Bunny made things more interesting. Even his win at Wrestlemania was cool. But after that…wow did they kill the talent.
After Wrestlemania they just kept putting Damien Priest against The Miz and John Morrison constantly. I was just bored seeing them together. The compelling storyline ended at Wrestlemania and it should’ve reminaed that way.
It was the same promos, the same premise, the same words uttered out. We got it. The Miz and Morrison were obsessed with beating Priest.
I do agree with the fact that Miz and Morrison should’ve won some matches. At least to keep the dynamic alive. But, nope.
Now, It’s time for the women’s division.
They have tons of amazing women wrestlers. Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, etc. yet, we only see a quarter of them actually being used. There’s so many underrated women wrestlers right now that it hurts not to see them get any sort of attention.
I get it, of course the big women wrestlers get the pop from the crowd. But, I do think that if out of nowhere one of the undercard women wrestlers were to come out and face one of the women…I think that will get an even huge pop from the crowd.
That would show us fans that you’re ready for something new and that you believe in this “undercard” person so we should to. It’s a 50/50 type of thing, but it’s still a breathe of fresh air.
The point of this blog just to state that it’s time for a major change in the company.
Hopefully with the draft here, we will start to see a “new show”.
