The bigger sequel!

Night 2 was more anticipated than the first night. Although night 1 proved that we were in for a hell of a rollercoaster ride, night 2 came and it didn’t disappoint. The line up was stacked and every match had the odds stacked against someone.

Did night 2 live up to the height?

Of course it did! It blew the roof off the stadium, minus for one part of the show that you’re going to see down the list. Night 2 was full of drama and quite the surprise appearance.

Brock Lesnar Vs Omos

I don’t think a lot of people expected much from this match. This was more of a showcase for Omos, being this giant unstoppable beast. Brock Lesnar has been known to go against up and coming talent to test them out.

The match itself was short and got down to what they needed to do.

Omos is not going to have 20+ minute matches before his moves start feeling repetitive and boring. WWE wants to make him an attraction, so it’s more of a pop your head out and head out.

The match wasn’t the best nor the worst. It was fun and had a few good spots to get the fans going.

Results: Brock Lesnar wins

Rating: 4/10

Women’s Tag Team Showcase

This was actually quite the match. All the women involved had their moment in the sun. Liv Morgan and Natalya were the MVP’s for me.

Chelsea Green had her high moment when she did a cross-body off the top rope to the outside.

Raquel and Liv made a great team here. She powerbombed Liv out of the ring onto all the women outside. It was a really cool moment.

Here’s the kicker of the match

When you were watching the match, there was someone missing from the action…Ronda Rousey. We didn’t see her lift one finger up. Although she was wrestling while injured, We’ve seen people wrestle with worst injuries and they still put on a clinic of a show.

Ronda just came in at the end of the match and put Shotzi in an armbar.

Results: Ronda Rousey

Rating: 4/10

Gunther Vs Sheamus Vs Drew McIntyre — Intercontinental Championship

Before this match even started, the electricity in the air was incredible. The crowd was warmed up and ready to see these European men battle till Oden said no more. This was one of the most anticipated matches for me of night 2.

Gunther allowed Sheamus and Drew to start off the match. Clearly he had a strategy here. Allow them to beat the living hell out of each other and take advantage of the weaker one without breaking a sweat, easy right?

Not the way Gunther planned. Once Drew was out of the ring, he drew his attention to Sheamus where he did some vicious chops to his chest.

The amount of chops in this match HURT from watching. All three of them had their chests completely red, god knows how much the stinging was hurting.

Sheamus hit Drew with 29 forearms to the chest, with number 30 being the last one before Drew fell down.

Once the match picked up, it was only a matter of time about who hits a finisher and quickly gets the three count. The amount of false finishes kept you on the edge of your seat. When one man kicked out of a two count, you breathed in a sign of relief. This was a “Fight forever” type of match.

Gunther powerbombed McIntyre onto Sheamus before delivering another one on Drew for the final time.

I love how this was a wrestling match. There didn’t need to be an spectacle in the making or anything. This was advertised as three big men who want another but the championship.

Gunther is seriously showing everyone why he is the commander of the ring and it’s only a matter of time where we will see him at the top of the company.

Results: Gunther retains

Rating: 8/10

Bianca Belair Vs Asuka — Raw’s Women Championship

Bianca is defending her belt for the first time at Wrestlemania. Bianca has been a staple of Wrestlemania ever since winning her first championship.

Their story didn’t really build up to anything worth-watching. It was a simple short build that had to lead to Wrestlemania, so that the champion can have a match. There could’ve been more nuances in this feud, but so be it.

Bianca and Asuka were impressive here. Both showed her physical abilities in the ring and showed that both women could be the face of the women division.

Some parts of the match seemed a bit slow and lost the momentum that they started with, but it quickly went away and they started to do unique moves to try to get the pinfall.

Bianca was able to get the K.O.D on Asuka for the win.

Bianca won the match, but she’s really running out of opponents to face now. Besides Charlotte Flair, they’re gonna have to bring in some NXT blood to start something new.

As for Asuka, this her fourth lost at Wrestlemania and it’s a shame. She deserves better and she’s proven that she’s worth the money. I don’t know what they have planned for her next, but hopefully it’s something bigger than what’s she getting.

Results: Bianca Belair retains

Edge Vs Finn Balor — Hell In A Cell match

Can we just finally say that the cel isn’t RED anymore! God it was such a refresher seeing the old school cell make a come up. The red cell just never looked as intimidating as they thought it would. Even more, the color was distracting from the action happening inside.

Both men had amazing entrances.

Edge came out to his Brood entrance, with the help of Metallica. He wore this cool skull-like costume and stood still till his Alter Bridge song came on. Low-key, I wish Gangrel and Christian would’ve come out with him, it would’ve been even more amazing.

Finn Balor brought back his Demon character and it was amazing to see it back and not to mention to hear his old theme song and have people raise their hands on cue with the music. He crawled his way to the cell and showed Edge that he should be the one in fear right now.

The two of them didn’t waste any time to start bringing in weapons. We got colored chairs and colored kendo sticks. Balor gets tied up to the cell by the Kendo sticks while Edge grabs a table. Edge took to long and Finn threw Edge to the steel steps.

Edge and Finn worked quickly in this match to show us that this wasn’t no “PG” match. We were gonna see them get down and dirty and if someone had to bleed so be it…and that’s what we actually got. WE GOT BLOOD!

We started to see blood fill the ring, which was odd to see, I thought it was drops of sweat, but no it Finn’s blood. When Edge hit Finn with the ladder he SLICED Finn’s head open. The medical team came out to check on Finn.

Finn being the class-act didn’t want the match the end, he couldn’t go out like that. He kept the ball rolling even with a deep laceration on his head, now that’s commitment or what?

For what it’s worth, the match as a whole felt like Edge was trying to keep up with Finn’s fast pace. You could almost see Edge losing sight of just how fast Finn moves in the ring. But, Edge held it together and followed suit and kept the same pace.

The match was more violent than I thought it would be.

Results: Edge wins

Rating: 9/10

Roman Reigns Vs Cody Rhodes — Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

The match of the century. The match that built up Wrestlemania to be must-see Pay-Per-View of the year. Everything revolved around this match and the hype was out of this world. We were all ready to see Cody be champion and see the fall of the Bloodline.

Roman and Cody stood tall for the beginning moments of the match, taking the moment in. The crowd had the same energy just as when The Rock and Hulk Hogan stood in the ring at Wrestlemania 18.

The back and forth action was outstanding. We got an immense amount of close calls. Cody showcased why he’s one of the faces of the company. He did all he could to hold down Roman. Roman on the other hand, took this challenge to heart and strived on putting Cody down.

The Usos’s ended up interfering in the match, where we thought it was over for Cody. Then Kevin and Sami came out and took care of the Usos’s, thank god. The match was spilling all over the stadium now.

Solo saw his moment to interfere when Paul Heyman created a distraction. Solo came in and did the Somoan Spike to Cody.

Roman Reigns hits the spear to Cody…

Roman Reigns…retains…WTF!

This was an extremely BOLD choice for the ending. I don’t know why they went the route he chose, but damn that was a risky one.

Cody is extremely over with the crowd. The man sold out a house show. His merch is outselling everyone. This was his moment!

Cody is protected, sure, but it feels like it’s gonna take a long time to come back from a loss like that.

It was a bittersweet Wrestlemania ending, and I think that was the point. I’m taking this as it is in movies. The good guy sometimes loses and the bad guy lives on until the moment comes again.

Results: Roman Reigns retains

Rating: 10/10
