Roman Reigns title reign continues as he defeated L.A Knight at Crown Jewel. Roman hasn’t had a match since Summerslam and of course he hasn’t skipped a beat in the ring, we as wrestling fans knew what the outcome of this match would be.

However with just how big L.A Knight is right now, why did WWE choose to put Roman Reign over again?

Popularity

This is a simple formula in WWE where something so popular can die out so fast. Ronda Rousey is a prime example of that. She came in and we were all hyped up for her and then it just died out. WWE doesn’t want a repeat of that.

Could Knight’s popularity be just a now-thing and through the rest of 2024 it will die down? It’s a common concern for WWE as LA’s rise to stardom feels like it was overnight.

What if that popularity doesn’t continue? WWE doesn’t want to put the belt on someone that could disappear with a snap of a finger.
