Triple H’s Era

A breathe of fresh air

With the recent shocking retirement of Vince McMahon, many of us have been wondering who would take the helm of WWE. Who would be bold enough to take on such a task. Because those are some big shoes to fill.

It was the biggest question of the year.

The answer came to us fairly quicker than usual. The answer was obvious from the start. There’s only one person who can take on such a task and take it as serious as possible. That man is Triple H.

We’re just in the beginning of this new “era” and I gotta say that I’m pretty intrigued with what’s been happening. It’s been nothing but pure entertainment. He isn’t dumb, he knows what we want and he’s slowly but surely giving it to us in small chunks.

Summslam came and went and It was probably one of the best WWE shows we’ve seen in a decade, yes I said it. The pace was good. There wasn’t a moment of feeling like some of the matches were “show-fillers”. The surprise comebacks were surprising, nobody saw it coming. The crazy spots were on point.

Many people have their doubts about Triple H taking over, which I understand, because it could go many ways. Some of your favorite superstars could lose their push, while other who might not deserve it will get that push and it could anger a lot of fans.

Maybe he will bring in too many NXT wrestlers who we’re not familiar with and they could make the main roster feel a bit too bloated.

It’s too early to say where this new program is going, but there’s still time for Triple H and his team to build up something that’s been crumbling down for more than 10 years.

He has a lot of work to do. We won’t see the results just yet. We probably won’t even see the results at the end of the year. There’s just so much baggage that needs to be attended to and I’m sure he’s looking very closely at what needs to be changed and what doesn’t.

I’ve given it a lot of thought and figured out a new trades that could help the WWE really launch into a new era.

New Direction

Like I mentioned before, Triple H knows what we want. He knows that we want some of that Attitude Era trades in todays program. We want that loose cannon feel of the show where anything could happen. Those OMG moments we always see on Youtube channels. Maybe even some blood.

He can slowly bring in those elements, it doesn’t have to happen so quickly. I think he should slowly progress through all the content, week after week, until he finds a niche.

Right now, it seems to me that he’s giving us those OMG moments.

By OMG moments I mean the surprise comebacks of beloved NXT wrestlers. From Io Shira (Io Sky), Dakota Kai, and Karrion Kross. He knew the potential they have and it seems to me that he’s going to let us know what he sees in them. He strongly believes in their talent, as I do.

With Karrion Kross returning and having his terrible gimmick casted away. I think we’re in for a new championship era with him.

This new direction to me seems as if Triple H is beautifully combining storylines together. The main storylines are getting intertwined with the mid-card storylines to kinda give every superstar a chance at the spotlight.

It might be a very bold move of him if that’s the case because maybe the storylines could feel a bit too much and there might be too much information to process and we will get distracted by the small things.

Creating New Superstars

Yes, you read that right. We need new superstars and we need them now.

By that I mean we need fresh new faces in the company. People who really don’t seem like main event players only to prove us wrong and become the next big thing.

We have the Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Randy Ortons, etc. Which is all cool and stuff, I love seeing them.

But, why not make the younger wrestlers get to that level and see what they could do with the veterans? I’m sure they have a lot to offer and prove. We all love an underdog story, just like the Daniel Bryan one. We don’t have to repeat that storyline, but we could have nuances of that time.

Triple H is giving us just that.

He could be trying out the NXT stars and see who has it and who might need a bit more work than he thought. Because it’s way different coming from a NXT crowd to an arena crowd. We could call this a trial and error type of method.

Right now, it’s Theory who has it.

We could very well be seeing the making of a new star. He’s the Money In The Bank winner. He’s going to cash it in soon. So right now he’s on that trial and error method.

Sure, he was a Vince McMahon guy. Vince really did try to push him to the top, but it was a bit forced on the fans end. Now, it feels more casual. He see him on the show once or twice and he gets the point he wants to get out faster than before.

I’d say Theory will be a mega star in 3 years.

Real Fear

Back then then heels were actually terrifying and a threat to the babyfaces. The heels would go to extreme lengths to make sure the good guys would be put down.

We need this back.

We don’t need thousands of word exchanges and random in-ring beat downs to prove their point. We know that’s going to happen.

We need backstage assaults. We need those random parking lot brawls where someone gets “injured” and it looks like the match won’t happen. You go two weeks without the babyface showing his or her face and then out of nowhere they’re back and better than ever and the heel is just dumbfounded.

It’s that dangerous mindset we need to get back. It makes the heels more unpredictable and make us wonder what they will go next, rather than knowing that this person is just going to talk shit and walk backstage.

Let’s say they cane a page from Shawn Michaels Vs Stone Cold or Mankind Vs Triple H, where the heels would REALLY go in and make stipulations and demands based on the situation.

More Pyro

This is just a random one. A fun one.

I really miss the days where pyro would just go off during superstars entrances and the beginning of shows. It just created the atmosphere for the night.

Visually it was better.

It’s a long shot to see if this will ever come back. They always save the pyro for big events like Wrestlemania and overseas PPV like Crown Jewels.

Also, it would be nice to see them bring back designed-entrances. I’m a bit fatigued with seeing just a giant titanron for the entrance. It would be nice to see designs come back with the theme of the PPV.

Push TV-14 To The Limit

Television programs can only go as far as they can before the networks get invovled and start to give notes to the creators.

During the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era it was common to see them push the envelope on television programming. From showing semi-nudity to showing too much violence, etc. It was just a routine for them.

Vince even made fun of the network by creating Right To Censor, a smack to the face for the network executives, which was funny to see.

Triple H could aim for that. He could see how much he could get away with before it’s too much. For fans, it would be perfect because we will be getting that action we crave.

Anyone remember how far they pushed the TV guide lines with Edge and Lita’s Live Sex Celebration?

There doesn’t have to be nudity on the program, we’re past that phase.

Triple H could make fun of how terrible the PG Era was. He could create a group that could stir up a bit of controversy with the media. Which will make them gain more attention and might easily get more people to watch the show and see why this is “controversial”.

One funny aspect he could bring back is crowd participation. When the wrestlers would hit a random person from the front row, which of course the person in the front row was in on it. They make a big deal about it and take it to social media and take it further.

Social media is the strong point right now. If they use it wisely, they could really strike gold. They can make videos, Tweets, Instagram posts showing something that’s far from the program and attach it to a storyline.

The amount of ideas are endless, but I can see Triple H doing big things with his new found position in WWE.
