Summerslam 2023 Predictions
The biggest party of the summer is arriving!
Summerslam is one of WWE’s biggest Premier Live events of the year. This will be the culmination of a few really heated rivalries. The storylines leading up to this event have been nothing but amazing. Every match we’re going to see has huge stakes involved.
With Summerslam just days away. Let’s take some time and see who will win and if we’re getting any surprises.
Ronda Rousey Vs Shayna Baszler — MMA Rules Match
Ronda is reportedly out of WWE after Summerslam. She merely asked to finish her run with a feud against one of her closest friends. This has actually helped Shayna break out of that mid-card mold and actually be taken as a more upper-level wrestler.
The story here has been pretty personal with both doing interviews of them talking about each other and how they met and how far they’ve come through the good and bad times.
Although the story has been really rushed, when Shayna randomly turned on Ronda at Money In The Bank. It kinda leaves the question of how far the storyline could actually go if given the time to progress.
This is also a first for WWE as they scheduled the match to be a MMA Rules match, which to anyones guess would mean that it’s just going to be a full on UFC fight? Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see these two fighters go at it.
With a decisive victory over Ronda, this should put Shayna in the upper echelon of the women’s division where she once was. Maybe she could even go further and be a champion.
Winner — Shayna Baszler
Cody Rhodes Vs Brock Lesnar
This is the rubber match for their hellish rivalry. This is probably one of the most anticipated matches of the night. This match should be both emotional and physical.
The shocking part of this match is that there’s no stipulation here. Many reports stated that Cody wanted to do a Bull Rope match but WWE denied the idea. I think this match deserves some sort of stipulation to officially end the whole feud.
Maybe they will add it the day of the match?
This is just the end of one chapter this Cody Rhodes redemption story. So, with Cody winning this one it will set up another chapter. Within that chapter two things could happen. One — He will return his focus to Roman Reigns for the title. Second — Another obstacle will come in his way and this will be another exciting side-quest for him.
Regardless, this match will live up to the hype and we will see one hell of a beat down.
Winner — Cody Rhodes.
Logan Paul Vs Ricochet
This is more of a “Make Logan look great” match.
Logan Paul has been wowing fans since he first entered the WWE. At first, one expected him to do much. He was just another celebrity coming into the business with the big bucks and no respect.
He proved everyone wrong at Summerslam when he did an outstanding job against Seth Rollins.
This feud has been somewhat enjoyable. The spotlight is really on Logan Paul making Ricochet go viral with their now famous Royal Rumble spot, where they jumped from either end of the ring only to collide mid-air.
At Money In The Bank, they were suppose to have another viral moment when they were suppose to perform a spanish fly to a table outside the ring, but that didn’t go as planned, it became the botch of the year.
At Summerslam, they will for sure create that one viral moment that we will talk about for the remainder of the year.
Winner — Logan Paul
Asuka Vs Charlotte Flair Vs Bianca Belair — Woman’s Championship Match
The first thing that might come to your mind is that Charlotte’s gonna win this one. It’s just history. When she returns to WWE and competes for the title, she just always wins. I hope that creatives could look past that obvious trope.
Asuka’s no easy match for both women. She will be giving them a run for their money. Asuka’s championship should continue until next year maybe.
There’s something different in this match though.
Iyo Sky has been teasing that she’s gonna cash in her briefcase at Summerslam. As cool as that would be, we will only get a teaser. WWE know’s we want to see an Asuka Vs Iyo match. It could very well be match of the year if that happens. These two women would be big time.
There’s also been a build up for a Charlotte Vs Bianca match, that could take place anytime from now. This is the perfect opportunity to build it even more. One can cost the other the match and tensions flare up.
There’s a lot of story building in this Triple Threat match that could easily go either way.
Winner — Asuka retains
Gunther Vs Drew McIntyre — Intercontinental championship
This is a hard one to predict. Both men are on such a roll. A lose for one of them could be almost catastrophic for their careers it seems.
Gunther has been a dominant champion. He’s so close to surpassing The Honky Tonk Man’s historic Intercontinental reign.
But then we have Drew who made his return at Money In The Bank and a lose so early on in his return could really hurt his reputation.
With the help of Imperium, there’s no doubt that Gunther will take the win and he will be the most dominant IC Champion in history.
Winner — Gunther retains
Seth Rollins Vs Finn Balor — World Heavyweight Championship
The potential for Damien Priest to cash in his Money In The Bank contract during this match is extremely high. This would also cause a huge friction within the Judgement Day. Which might cause them to break up, let’s hope not.
Seth has won countless championships in WWE, but for some reason it’s never felt like his had that definitive title reign that he so deserves. Seth Rollins is completely over with the fans and this current title reign should be the one to really symbolize his popularity in the company.
A loss here would just be a waste of time for his hard to to regain a huge championship.
Winner — Seth Rollins retains
Roman Reigns Vs Jey Uso — Tribal Combat Match
This almost feels like the final fight between the two Bloodline members. This the fight of their lives. In a perfect world, Jey would defeat Roman and become champion and be the head of the table. The perfect ending of this three year story.
Roman is gonna win this one because this is his world, his story, this isn’t over yet.
Roman has practically no one in his corner besides his wise-man Pau Heyman. Although the Bloodline is slowly coming to an end, there’s just one member that seems to be on verge of seriously leaving and that’s Solo Sikoa. Summerslam could in fact be the night that Solo ends up leaving for good.
More pressure will be added to Roman after Summerslam. He might go on his own and we will really start to see a more vulnerable side to him.
Winner — Roman Reign retains
