Royal Rumble Surprise Entrants 2023
Who will WOW us?
It’s that time of the year! The time where we get to see who will challenge for WWE gold at the grandest stage of them all at Wrestlemania. Royal Rumble season or the road to Wrestlemania is the most exciting time for any wrestling fan.
What makes it more exciting is the fact that we might see a few surprise appearances at the Royal Rumble. It’s just a tradition at this point.
This year though, it feels like we might have more surprises than usual. There’s so many free agents that could come in and have their moment in the ring.
So, fasten your seatbelts and hold on tight and let’s talk about who could be some of the surprise entrants this year!
Nick Aldis
NWA star Nick Aldis recently asked for his release from NWA, which was a shock to us all. Nick was the face of the company but he stated that it was a “toxic” environment there.
Aldis would be a great addition to the Rumble.
Sure, he might not have that huge name recognition like others on this list, but this would be a great start for him. People who don’t know about him could see him for the first time here and see what he’s capable of.
I’d say let Nick come into WWE and let him showcase his talent! He could eliminate someone semi-big and have the crowd give him a pop and they could go from there.
Naomi
The fans have been going ape-shit crazy for the return of Naomi. Not to mention many fans have been vocal about the Bloodline having a female representation.
Naomi being Jimmy Uso’s wife just makes even more sense for her to join the faction.
Bring some girl power into the island of relevancy!
Sasha Banks
WHY NOT?!
Don’t lie, we all wanna see her come back to WWE and show us why we miss her in the ring. We all miss the way Micheal Cole loses his shit when he talks about Sasha. Admit it, you miss it just as much as the other person.
By bringing back Naomi, you seriously open the door for a Sasha Banks return.
Imagine the bell rings, you hear Sasha’s theme song pop up. The pop will be so loud that people might go deaf. The perfect reaction for such a comeback.
Matt Cardona
The former Zack Ryder has been making a name for himself in the indy circle. He made a complete 180 turn in his persona, going from his party guy “woo woo woo” to a more grounded and ruthless hardcore wrestler. He’s been on a role ever since.
He has held championships in both GCW and NWA.
Lately, he has been teasing a return to WWE by posting old photos of him in his WWE days. Also, his wife Chelsea Green has been teasing a return. This all just makes so much sense.
What better to make an impact with a surprise entrance?
Stone Cold Steve Austin
This is a wild card.
Wouldn’t be cool if all of a sudden you hear glass shattering and Stone Cold’s theme song comes on? Exactly, it would be an out of body experience!
Is there one more match left in him?
He’s in the best shape of his life right now. Posting videos on his social media of him working out. Personally, he’s never looked better.
Maybe they could plan something long term with him and not just a one time appearance like last year. Something where he doesn’t have to do too much but still have a good presence.
Let’s just hope they don’t repeat Kevin Owens Vs Stone Cold again.
The Rock
The biggest name in sports entertainment, the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, would be the PERFECT surprise for the night.
There’s been a lot of buzz of having The Rock face off against Roman Reigns. Because there could only be room for one head of the table in the Anoa’i family.
If these two were to meet at Wrestlemania, it will be nothing more than spectacular. The odds would be stacked against both men. Neither man could afford to lose this match, which makes it all the better.
They could play an angle where they rewind back to 2015 when Roman won the Royal Rumble and The Rock raised his hands. Maybe The Rock saw him as a threat from there and was waiting for the perfect time to strike.
This would be a main event for the ages!
Randy Orton
Randy hasn’t been on television since may of 2022 due to an injury. His presence is greatly missed. He was one of the best parts of Raw.
Randy would get a pop from the crowd.
Who knows maybe they would want to make him world champion again.
