The road to Wrestlemania has begun!

The road to Wrestlemania is underway. The Royal Rumble 2023 has just past us by, and it was actually one of the best Rumble Pay-Per-Views in a long time. The crowd were very invested in the product, which made it all the more special.

There were moments that storylines continued, like Brock Lesnar Vs Bobby Lashley, and we also got a chance to new feuds starting from the likes of Seth Rollins and Logan Paul. WWE did a great job in furthering storylines during the match.

Pat McAfee Is Back!

The night started out with the surprise return of one of the most beloved commentators in WWE. Pat come out to a loud pop from the WWE universe.

Corey Grave sold his heel persona as Pat made his to the announcers table.

Michael sounded like he just won the lottery when Pat joined him by his side.

Men’s Royal Rumble Match

Gunther entered as number 1 and Sheamus as number 2.

Gunther proved to be a favorite to win the match. He lasted an outstanding hour and 10 minutes. He has set a whole new Royal Rumble record. His performance was incredible, He might’ve just proven to the world that he’s championship worthy.

Logan Paul and Ricochet had a good spot in the match. They both jumped from either end of the ring and collided in mid-air.

Cody Rhodes made his comeback at number 30.

Cody eliminated the majority of the remaining superstars until it was down to him and Gunther.

Cody and Gunther fought to the death in the final moment. Cody hit the CrossRhodes to eliminate Gunther over the top rope.

Cody Rhodes wins the 2023 Royal Rumble match.

L.A Knight Vs Bray Wyatt — Pitch Black Match

This was a new match. No one really knew what to expect from it. Once both wrestlers made it to the ring, it was clear that it was just a fancy name for a no disqualification match.

The lights dimmed down and turned into neon lights. The ring ropes illuminated green. L.A Knights ring gear illuminated. Bray Wyatt was smart in the way he wanted to present himself in this match. Once the neon lights hit him we saw that he had painted himself with neon paint. It added a cool touch.

The match itself wasn’t that impressive. It almost seemed like a squash match for L.A Knight. Bray Wyatt hit Knight with Sister Abigail for the match.

After the match, Bray wore a demon-like mask. Knight tries to fight of Bray with a Kendo-stick, but Bray give Knight a Manibal Claw.

Uncle Howdy showed up, standing above a platform. He took a dive off the platform and once he landed on Knight, a slew of pyro went off.

This whole spot made up for the lackluster match we had.

Bianca Belair Vs Alexa Bliss — Raw Women Championship

Alexa has been showing a bit of edge in the past few weeks. With her incoming character change. She gave it her best, however it wasn’t enough to stop Bianca.

Bianca gave Alexa a K.O.D for the win and she retained her belt.

The match itself wasn’t that entertaining. This was more about furthering Alexa’s impending doom and transformation into becoming part of Uncle Howdy’s group.

After the match ended, a video vignette popped up of Uncle Howdy and Alexa looked either dumbfounded or completely scared.

Woman’s Royal Rumble Match

Rhea Ripley was number 1 and Liv Morgan was number 2. Both women lasted an entire hour to become one of the last women’s in the ring.

There were a few surprise in this Rumble match. Asuka has returned to WWE and she her Kana gimmick now. It was pretty damn cool to her wearing the face paint again.

Nia Jax made her return to WWE as entrant number 30.

Asuka, Liv, and Rhea were on the edge of the ring for the final moments of the match. Asuak spit out her mist which was meant for Rhea, but Rhea dodged it, and Liv got the short end of it.

Rhea eliminated Asuka.

Rhea disposes of Liv Morgan and wins the Royal Rumble.

She’s the FOURTH person to have ever win the Royal Rumble as entrant number 1.

Roman Reigns Vs Kevin Owens — WWE Undisputed Championship

Kevin Owens gave Roman a run for his money. Kevin was focused throughout the whole match. There were many times where it looked like Kevin was actually going to be the one to beat Roman’s winning streak.

Roman speared Kevin through the barricade.

Roman became more vicious as the match progressed. He slammed Kevin’s head twice of the steel steps.

Roman delivered a second spear to Owens and retains his belt.

After the match, it was time for Sami Zayn’s final test. The Bloodline assaulted Kevin and handcuffed him to the ring ropes. Roman was just about to hit Kevin with a chair, when Sami got in the way.

Sami really tested his luck here.

Roman told a reluctant Sami that he had to be the one to end Kevin. Sami struggled with his morality for a few minutes. He didn’t want to do this to his best friend.

Roman became more pissed and slapped Sami around.

Sami had enough of it and hit Roman in the back with the steel chair. The entire Bloodline was in utter shock as was the fans.

The Bloodline attacks Sami down, but there was one person who was missing the action. Jey Uso was in the corner watching this unfold. There was a slight hint that Jey thought that Sami didn’t deserve this.

Jey ended up walking away.

The Bloodline has turned on Sami Zayn.
