Hall Of Fame 2023 Predictions
Who will get inducted?
Each year, Wrestlemania weekend is a packed house. From NXT Stand & Deliver, to two nights of Wrestlemania, and so on. There’s one monumental part of the whole weekend. That is the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony, where we celebrate past wrestlers and all their contributions to wrestling.
As the road to Wrestlemania is underway, the anticipation starts to build on who will be inducted this year. Let’s take a look at some predictions for 2023.
Batista
The Animal Batista took WWE by the hand during his time there. He became world champion in 2005 at Wrestlemania and from there he was on the highway to super stardom.
He was in fact supposed to be inducted already but due to the Covid pandemic he declined the opportunity, stating that “fans need to be there to make the moment more special”.
He’s for sure going to headline this years Hall Of Fame.
Umaga
This has been an interesting topic lately. Ever since Solo Sikoa came into the main roster, everybody started to remember about Umaga and the talk of the town is that he deserves a spot in the Hall Of Fame.
He’s one of the most underrated Samoan members. Umaga hunged around the main-event scene and seamlessly moved from mid-card to the top spot in a matter of days. He was part of the “Battle of the Millionaires” at Wrestlemania 23, where we saw Vince McMahon get his head shaved.
For those who didn’t know, Umaga was in WWE long before his Samoan gimmick came to be. He worked under the name “Jamal” as one-half of the tag team Three Minute Warning with Roman Reign’s brother Rosey.
Sadly, he passed away at the age of 36 in 2009.
In the brief time he was in WWE some could say that he accomplished more than anyone who spent ten years in WWE.
He definitely has earned a spot in the Hall Of Fame.
Lex Luger
The Total Package. Made in the USA. The Narcissist.
There’s no denying that Lex Luger was a main-eventer and one of the biggest superstars of the 80’s and 90’s. That alone is something to take under consideration.
He never won a big championship and he may have rubbed a lot of the people the wrong way during his day, not to mention some political reason as to why he jumped ship from WWE to WCW.
Lex is in a different stage of his life now. He has accepted the mistakes he made in his younger days and overall seems like a genuine nice guy to be around with now. He can join his legendary rivals Sting, Ric Flair, Yokozuna, Bret Hart, amongst others.
Stacy Kiebler
The most famous legs sports entertainment had to offer.
Stacy made her wrestling debut in the final years of WCW. When WCW closed its doors, she came into WWE and was a hit from the start. He knew what she had and she worked with it.
She had off rivalries throughout the years. Having Evening Gown matches with Torrie Wilson, to being in Lingerie battle royales for the Women’s Championship. She was in about any type of “women” match you could think of.
She never won a major title in WWE, but she was always entertaining to watch.
Plus, her best friend Torrie Wilson is in the Hall Of Fame, so why not Stacy too?
Mickie James
This is a stretch.
Mickie is one of the most decorated wrestlers of all time. She’s a veteran in the industry. She has held the Women’s Titles six times. She’s a trailblazer for what women can do in the ring. Doesn’t that scream for an induction?
She debuted in wwe in 2005 as Trish Stratus obsessed fan. They had a legendary feud that made Mickie James the star she is today.
WWE has been talking about breaking the “forbidden door” lately. So, with Mickie being in IMPACT Wrestling, this would be the case. Either way, WWE has inducted wrestlers that were in other promotions at the same time so it shouldn’t be a big deal.
Edge & Christian
TLC. Con-chair-toe. Responsible for making the Attitude Era even more exciting.
Edge & Christian were ahead of their time when they were in WWE. They brought excitement when it came time to using chairs on their opponents. They had that “California” look even tho they were Canadian.
They got paid their dues in 1999 when them and The Hardy Boyz did battle in the first ever Tag-Team Ladder Match. This was the moment where BOTH team became a household name. Both teams got a standing ovation from the crowd and we as fans knew that this team was something else.
Then, Edge & Christian decided to up the antics and do another first-ever match. The TLC match. This is where they solidified their name in WWE. Their TLC matches are legendary and are still talked about to this day. During Wrestlemania week, we always see the moment where Edge speared Jeff Hardy from the ladder.
This team deserves a spot amongst the greatest tag teams in WWE.
Michelle McCool
We first saw her in the notorious Diva search competition. She quickly shook that off and proved to be one of the most hardest working woman in WWE.
McCool found success when she was a babyface and won the Divas championship. Although that was nice to see, she shined more when she turned heel and aligned herself with Layla and formed LayCool. Her career took off from there.
Michelle was athletic and picked up the in-ring game way quicker than most women from the Diva Search. She became a two-time Women’s champion. She was practically the high-standard of women wrestling in the 2010's.
Not to mention, her husband is Undertaker, so Michelle should make it a family affair and get inducted in 2023.
The Ministry Of Darkness
This may never happen, but we can all dream.
This wasn’t your typical WWE faction. They had their own rules and they did things behind the scenes more than in the ring. They had this supernatural element to them that made you nervous and look behind you when walking the hallways of the arena.
Undertaker was the leader of the group and seriously elevated his character more here. He became almost the real leader of WWE. He could “possess” anybody he wanted. He made Vince McMahon fall to his knees and beg for mercy.
It had quite the few members, some were in and out of the group. We had Midian, APA, Viscera, Paul Bearer. Not counting is you want to add Shane, Vince, Triple H, Chyna, when they were the “Corporate Ministry”.
