Best WWE Returns In 2022

Who would’ve thought!

2022 has been a hell of a year for WWE. It’s had its ups and downs. We’ve cheered and cried. We’ve been mad and sad. We’ve seen people we love leave the company for numerous reasons.

There’s been quite a few of up and coming wrestlers that have made 2022 the year for them to show us what they’re capable of.

through the fire and the flames, we’re at the end of the year and there’s been a lot of returns we never saw coming ever since Triple H has taken over the company.

There’s no order here. These are my top returns of the year.

Karrion Kross

The two-time NXT champion had a terrible first run on the main roster. His character is completely forgetful and thankfully we’re forgotten about it and so has the company.

Karrion returned to the company when he attacked Drew McIntyre during the closing moments of Smackdown. It was a very well kept secret. I didn’t see it coming, no one did really.

This to me is arguably one of the best returns this year.

Plus, thank god he kept his apocalyptic character!

Becky Lynch

The man is back!

At Summerslam she suffered a shoulder injury and sadly had to take some time off to recover. I personally thought she wasn’t going to return till next year at Royal Rumble.

But within the gap of three months she made her return to WWE and she came back with a vengeance and looks better than ever. She came out to be the last member of Bianca Belair’s WarGames team.

Damage CTRL (Baley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky)

Bayley had an incredible heel run last year. She was loud, annoying, and in your face. You were completely annoyed with her but that was the beauty of things. She was doing exactly what she was suppose to.

Sadly she tore her ACL and was sidelined for almost the entire year.

Bayley came back just in time for Summerslam but she wasn’t alone. She arrived with Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky, which I’m pretty sure caught everyone off guard. She formed Damage CTRL and it has taken her character into another realm.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

The Texas rattlesnake did something he never thought of. He came back into the square circle and gave us a bit of what we missed about him at Wrestlemania 38.

After retiring in 2003. He has made appearances here and there for WWE. But what we wanted to see was him inside the ring, whooping someones ass. For me, that moment was years in the making.

Kevin Owens invited him to be part of his K.O Show for the main event of Night One of Wrestlemania.

It was a random match to say the least. We all knew what the outcome would be, but it was still marvelous to see Stone Cold kicking ass. He hasn’t lost a step in the ring.

Cody Rhodes

The American Nightmare made his comeback to WWE at Wrestlemania 38. Even though it was the worst kept secret of the year. Once his theme song hit, we all lost our shit and screamed in happiness.

In AEW Cody made a name for himself. He became more than just “that” wrestler. He proved that he’s main event worthy and championship worthy.

Low key, I wish I was in the audience at Wrestlemania to experience the loud pop he got once he came out.

Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt’s “The Fiend” character was one of the most magical things to happen to the company. It was one of the most creative characters in WWE in decades. You never knew what he was going to do.

The Fiend was so big that it broke merchandise records for WWE!

Despite the fame he brought in and the becoming a world champion twice. WWE shocked the world with the news of Bray Wyatt’s release, which also brought in a lot of crictisim.

In September, we started to get small hints of something coming. Something sinister coming to the WWE. There were random QR codes popping up on TV. In the background during the wrestlers interviews you could get a glimpse of Bray Wyatt’s puppets just looking ominously at you.

At Extreme Rules. Bray Wyatt finally made his emotional return to the WWE to a loud pop from the crowd. It was the best moment of the year for me. He came home.

Even though he’s not playing The Fiend character and has taken his character in a new direction with this new “Uncle Howdy” mystery segment. I’m loving the freedom he’s having right now to do what he wants to do.
