AEW & WWE Invasion
What if both companies were to merge?
in 2001, WWE had an “Invasion” storyline where WCW and ECW stars would invade the WWE ring and reek havoc on the WWE wrestlers. It was something that we all thought would be a good idea. I mean, on paper I’m sure it looked like the best idea ever. All these companies colliding in the square circle? That’s a dream.
That wasn’t the case.
It was a terrible storyline. They missed key opportunities. I’ll get more into details of that in another post.
Now, let’s imagine Tony Khan and Vince McMahon coming together and actually speaking about wanting to collaborate. The world would explode. The possibilities would be endless. WWE superstars coming to AEW and vice-versa.
I think it would be AMAZING if done right.
Think about the matches we would get. The crazy moments that would occur. The stakes would be so high for both companies. The amount of money that they would make would be endless. Who knows even Vince McMahon would lace up his boots one last time to save his company (not likely).
With this on going “AEW & WWE” war. It would just be the perfect timing for this sort of thing to happen.
I’ve come up with a few matches that I think would blow the roof off the arenas.
First up,
Britt Baker Vs Charlotte Flair
The amount of drama that these two woman woukld bring to the table is just out of this world. Both have great microphone skills. Both are willing to do ANYTHING inside the ring. Both are overall the most respected women wrestlers in their company.
We all know Britt Baker isn’t afraid to bleed.
This would be the true test of what woman really dominates sports entertainment.
What if they put up their women’s championship? OH-MY-GOD
Next up,
Kenny Omega Vs Seth Rollins
Lord be hold…the match we would see. This is a main eventer. Quite frantically…I could probably die happy if I were to see this match.
Both men have tremendous talent.
Kenny Vs Seth in a promo…would just erupt in “Oh’s” and “Damn!” because of the things they would say. I’d say they would push the limit to see how far they could go.
As for the match, it would be something we talk about for ages.
Next,
MJF Vs The Miz
The battle of the microphone.
This would just be a comedy show. These two would destroy on the mic. I’m just always thinking about the facial expressions The Miz would do when MJF talks.
Not to mention, MJF is probably the best heel wrestlers in any promotion right now. The man just oozes out hatred.
Next,
Young Bucks Vs RK-Bro
I know what you’re thinking…why RK-Bro? Why not New Day? Well…I think it would be too obvious. This one could be “Out of nowhere” type of match.
The performance from these two teams would leave us in awe.
The Young Bucks are undoubtably the best tag team in sports entertainment right now. Hell, they even make fun of WWE moments right now in AWE. I could just picture them mocking Riddle and Randy Orton.
Next,
Nyla Rose Vs Nia Jax
This one would be an opening match. It would set the mood of what the night will bring.
I personally think Nyla Rose would get over.
It’s just an endless list. I can’t just write down every match.
This is good for business.
Sure, neither of the companies would want to lose a match. As it could reflect as having “weak” people. But, I’d be hopeful that they would come to some sort of agreement.
The kind of agreement that AEW has with Impact Wrestling and New Japan right now.
I wish we lived in a world where they would just call each other up and just start planning this madness. I’d totally pay money for every Pay-Per-View they come up with, or even if it’s just a one night PPV that brings everything together.
The ratings that all their shows will have will be through the roof.
